History
Fiat was founded in 1899 as Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino and became Italy's industrial flagship under the Agnelli family. Iconic models like the Fiat 500 and Panda revolutionized urban mobility through affordability and compactness. In 2021, Fiat merged with PSA to form Stellantis.
EV strategy
Fiat wants to lead European micromobility and is building a range of small electric vehicles around the Topolino (as of July 2026). The new Panda generation, the Grande Panda, has been built in Kragujevac, Serbia, since January 2025, as an electric car and as a hybrid; the classic Panda stays at Pomigliano d'Arco in Italy until at least 2030. The Tris, an electric take on the Piaggio Ape, rounds out the urban range.
